Use your own discovery data, not generic AI stats

One of the biggest AI mistakes sales reps make: asking Claude to build an ROI narrative without giving it any real numbers. Claude will fill the gap with generic stats — "companies typically save 30%" — which prospects dismiss immediately because they've heard it from every other vendor.

The fix

Feed Claude the prospect's own discovery data and make it calculate from there.

Template

"Build an ROI narrative for [COMPANY]. Use these numbers from our discovery call:

  • Current cost of the problem: [SPECIFIC METRIC from the call]
  • Time lost per week: [SPECIFIC METRIC from the call]
  • Revenue impact: [SPECIFIC METRIC from the call]

Calculate: time saved, cost saved, payback period, 12-month ROI. Show your math. Write it in a format the prospect can share internally."

Why this works

"You told us your reps spend 2 hours a day on manual research across a team of 20" is infinitely more powerful than "companies in your space typically save 30%." The prospect gave you those numbers. They can't argue with them.

The rule

If Claude is making up a number, it will be dismissed. If Claude is calculating from numbers your prospect gave you, it's undeniable.
