One of the most valuable things AI can do in sales is help you maintain multi-threaded account relationships without the cognitive overhead of remembering every detail about every contact.
Multi-threading is maintaining active, valuable relationships with multiple stakeholders in an account simultaneously. Single-threaded deals — where your only contact is the champion — are the highest-risk deals in your pipeline. If the champion goes dark, changes roles, or loses internal influence, your deal goes with them.
Map the stakeholders first: "For [COMPANY], build a stakeholder map for a [SOLUTION CATEGORY] purchase. Include: EB, champion, technical evaluator, potential blocker, legal/procurement. For each, suggest a value proposition angle specific to their role."
Personalize outreach for each stakeholder: "Write a personalized introduction email from me to [SECONDARY STAKEHOLDER NAME], [TITLE] at [COMPANY]. Context: I'm already working with [CHAMPION NAME] on [PROJECT]. I want to introduce myself as a resource, not as a salesperson expanding my reach. Under 100 words. Tone: helpful peer."
Keep each relationship warm: "Write a light-touch email to [SECONDARY CONTACT] at [COMPANY] who I haven't spoken with in [TIME]. Don't reference the sales process. Lead with a relevant piece of value: [INSIGHT/RESOURCE]. Under 75 words."
Every deal over $100K should have at least 2 active stakeholder relationships. Every deal over $250K should have 3. Build those relationships before you need them, not after the champion goes quiet.
