Paste Raw Source Material — Don't Summarize It

A common mistake: you want AI to help you analyze an earnings call, so you read it yourself, take notes, and then describe what you read to the AI. You've just done all the hard work and given the AI your filtered interpretation instead of the real material.

The better approach: paste the raw source directly. Paste the actual transcript. Paste the LinkedIn post. Paste the 10-K excerpt. Let AI do the synthesis from primary material.

Claude in particular handles extremely long documents — its context window can process entire PDFs, full meeting transcripts, and long RFP documents in a single conversation. Use that capability. The output quality difference between "here's my summary" and "here's the actual document" is significant.

Practical tip: For web content, copy the full text of the page. For PDFs, use Claude's file upload feature. For transcripts, paste the whole thing — don't trim it.
