Never ask a yes/no question when you can ask an open one

One of the most common mistakes in AI-generated sales content: yes/no questions at the end of emails and follow-ups.

"Would you be interested in a quick call?" is a yes/no question. The answer is almost always no.

"What would make this worth 15 minutes of your time?" is an open question. It creates a dialogue.

The fix in any prompt

Add one line to any prompt that involves a call-to-action: "The CTA must be an open question, not a yes/no question."

That single line shifts every email Claude generates from closed invitations to open conversations.

Examples

Closed: "Would you be available for a demo next week?"

Open: "What would you need to see in a demo to know this was worth your team's time?"

Closed: "Is this something you'd be interested in exploring?"

Open: "What's the biggest driver of [PAIN AREA] at [COMPANY] right now?"

The rule

Closed questions get closed responses. Open questions get information. Every CTA in a prospecting email should be an open question until you're booking a specific meeting.
