Most sales reps open AI with a task: "Write me a cold email to a VP of Sales." The result is generic. The fix is simple: give context first.
Before any request, state: your role, your company and what it does, who you're reaching, and what you're trying to accomplish. This transforms the output from a template into something that actually sounds like you, for the real situation you're in.
Example setup: "I'm a B2B account executive at a data security company. I sell to mid-market financial services firms with 500-2000 employees. My prospects are typically VPs of IT Security or CISOs. I'm going to ask you to help me write outreach and sales content."
Run this setup once at the start of each session. Everything you ask after it will be dramatically more relevant.
