Executive Sales Report Builder

What this task does

The weekly or quarterly leadership report is hours of pulling, pivoting, and formatting that changes no outcomes. This task pulls the numbers, does the comparison math, writes the analysis in plain language, and formats the whole thing for forwarding.

Set up once

  1. Connect HubSpot read-only.
  2. Define your segments once in context/reporting.md (e.g. Enterprise 500+, Mid-Market 100-500, SMB).
  3. Run Friday afternoon or quarter-close.

The task brief

Paste this into Claude Cowork:

Build my [FILL IN: weekly/quarterly] sales report. Pull [FILL IN: period] from HubSpot: revenue, deals closed, average deal size, win rate, cycle length — each vs prior period. Break down by the segments in reporting.md and by rep (top five, flag outliers both directions). Then answer: what drove the change, what's working, what needs attention, and the one thing to change next period. Format as a clean document with charts, executive summary first.

What you get back

  • A forwardable report with charts and comparison math done
  • Analysis in sentences, not just tables
  • A repeatable format leadership learns to scan

Guardrails

  • Check the numbers against the CRM before it goes up the chain — garbage fields make confident-looking garbage.
  • The 'what to change' is a recommendation for your judgment, not autopilot.
