Live Negotiation Assistant

What this task does

Negotiating alone against a trained procurement team is how discounts happen. This task preps a concession strategy from your deal history and stays open during the negotiation — evaluating asks against your guardrails and suggesting non-price give-gets before you reach for the discount lever.

Set up once

  1. Write your walk-away, target, and approved non-price concessions into deals/[deal]-guardrails.md.
  2. Load the full deal history into the deal folder.
  3. Open the session 20 minutes before the negotiation.

The task brief

Paste this into Claude Cowork:

Prep me to negotiate [FILL IN: deal] closing at [FILL IN: target price]. From the guardrails file and deal history: anticipate their three most likely asks, build a concession sequence that trades value for value (never price first), and give me language for each. During the call I'll paste their asks — evaluate each against my guardrails and give me a response in under 50 words, flagging anything that crosses the floor with a clear DO NOT ACCEPT.

What you get back

  • A concession ladder you set before emotions run
  • Live counter-language grounded in your own guardrails
  • A hard flag whenever an ask crosses your floor

Guardrails

  • The assistant advises; you decide — never quote it verbatim mid-call.
  • Anything touching legal terms goes to your own counsel, full stop.
