Converting a Prompt into a Reusable Claude Project

What this workflow produces: A configured Claude Project that runs your repeating task with a single trigger phrase.

1. Step 1 — Identify your repeating task and existing prompt

   Pick a task you do regularly with AI. Write out your current prompt.

2. Step 2 — Separate what's static from what changes

   What never changes → Instructions field. What always applies as context → Knowledge file. What changes every time → Chat input.

3. Step 3 — Create the Claude Project

   Create a new Project in Claude. Paste static prompt into Instructions. Upload reference documents to Project Knowledge.

4. Step 4 — Test the project

   Start a new conversation. Attach variable input. Type a short trigger. Evaluate output quality.

5. Step 5 — Refine instructions if needed

   Edit Instructions field and re-test until output is consistently high quality with minimal chat input.
