What this automation does: Builds a comprehensive, AI-powered battlecard library covering all your major competitors — maintained in a shared Notion database that the whole team can access and update.
Time saved: 5-8 hours initial build, 30-45 minutes per monthly refresh
Initial setup (one session, 3-4 hours)
- List your top 5-7 competitors. For each, you'll build a structured battlecard.
- For each competitor, run the research phase in Perplexity:
- "[COMPETITOR] pricing and packaging 2025"
- "[COMPETITOR] G2 reviews negative 2025"
- "[COMPETITOR] recent product launches"
- "[COMPETITOR] customer complaints reddit forums"
- Then run this Claude prompt with the gathered research: "You are a competitive intelligence specialist. Based on this research about [COMPETITOR]: [PASTE RESEARCH]. Build a structured battlecard with: (1) 30-Second Overview, (2) Why They Win (3 points), (3) Why They Lose (3 points), (4) How to Win Against Them with specific discovery questions, (5) The Trap Move — one strategic play that consistently wins, (6) Landmines to Avoid. Format for a Notion database."
- Create a Notion database with properties: Competitor Name, Last Updated, Win Rate Against, Status (Current/Outdated). Add the battlecard content as the page body for each competitor.
Monthly refresh (30 minutes)
Run Google Alerts for each competitor weekly. Once a month, paste the new information into Claude and ask it to update the relevant battlecard sections.
