Salesforce unveiled Agentforce on 12 September 2024, positioning it as a platform for AI agents that take action across sales, service, marketing and commerce rather than answering prompts. The platform reached general availability on 29 October 2024.
Einstein Copilot, introduced in April 2024, was renamed to Agentforce in January 2025. Salesforce stated the rename carried no functional change, with only minor updates to permissions, interface elements and documentation.
The Einstein Copilot name no longer refers to a separately shipping product.
