Perplexity's first business product added SSO, user management and a promise that company data never trains the models, at $40 per seat.
Perplexity had already become the default research tab for a lot of reps, bought personally and used invisibly. Enterprise Pro is what makes that usage something a company can sanction rather than tolerate — which matters if your reps are pasting account detail into a consumer tool right now.
SOC 2 is a security audit standard; passing it is usually a prerequisite before a security team will approve a vendor. SSO, single sign-on, means staff authenticate with existing company credentials rather than personal logins.
The data commitment is the part reps should care about: Perplexity states that Enterprise Pro user data is never used to train its models. That is the specific fear that stops most companies allowing external research tools.
The short version: the research tool your reps are already using, with the security paperwork that lets your company admit they are using it.
Perplexity launched Enterprise Pro on 23 April 2024, its first business offering, announced alongside $62.7 million in funding and partnerships with SoftBank and Deutsche Telekom.
Price: $40 per seat per month, or $400 per seat per year.
Security: SOC 2 compliance, single sign-on, and user management.
Data policy: Perplexity states user data is never used to train its models.
Scale at launch: 169 million queries per month across the platform.
Early customers: Stripe, Zoom, Bridgewater, Snowflake, Databricks, HP, Vercel and Replit among those named.
Seat minimum: Not stated in the announcement.
What it doesn't do: it does not connect to your CRM. Perplexity searches the open web, so anything private — your pipeline, your notes, your call history — remains outside it, and the widely-repeated claim that Perplexity shipped a CRM integration is not something the company announced. Third-party connectors exist, but they are not this product.
SDR — Little functional change from the consumer Pro tier you may already be paying for yourself — the gain is that account research stops being a policy violation.
AE — What actually changes is being able to put real account context into a query. On a personal account you should not; under Enterprise Pro's data terms you can, which changes the quality of what you get back.
Manager — Worth auditing what your team already does. Personal Perplexity subscriptions expensed individually are common and invisible, and consolidating them is usually cost-neutral.
RevOps — SOC 2, SSO and user management are the review checklist. At $40 per seat this competes directly with the research budget you may already be spending on a data vendor.
A research tool is only as good as the question. Force the output down to facts that would change how you open the call.
